Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive these technical details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, including traffic patterns and page exits. Analytics providers combine those measurements. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Andrews County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to records held by the Andrews County Sheriff, local courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there falls under the provider's privacy policy and retention practices, which we do not control. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Throughout the site we link to sheriff's office pages, court portals, state agency sites, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used for collected data, but no internet system is completely secure. Absolute protection against a breach cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted when properly brought to our attention.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide further rights. Texas records access is governed in part by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while criminal-history use and dissemination are regulated by Government Code Chapter 411. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
